Yeah, follow the flashing signs. In Maine, on the turnpike the signs will flash, and I follow the limit they flash. Let some super-trucker pass you if he wants to, and let it be. Sooner or later those that disregard to flashing speed limit signs will wish they had, if they crash and get a ticket for driving too fast for road conditions. I want to be a fly on the wall in that safety office when that driver has to cry for his job.

Just to clarify it was over 40 degrees NO ICE ON ROAD every one was doing 70 mph PenDot just never updated the signs. Over a hundred miles advisory at 45 mph. I kept it under 55 but it was frustrating

Penndot is kinda rertarted when it comes to change signs nd whats confusing me is speed limit is 45, trucks nd buses left lane only nd at the same time you see another sign says speed limit is 65 slower traffic keep right.

I hear you 40 ouncer man. Those reduced zones that go on forever are really frustrating. I feel like a #### backing up traffic. But I don"t need a blemish on my record.
I go through one of these zones a good bit. And most of the times no cops. But sure as shooting some days the cops are out there. And they are darn good at hiding.the40man Thanks this. -
Since it would he over cumbersom to pass a law for every segment of roadway in every State to set every speed limit, the law in place States it is illegal to exceed the posted speed limit, and then regulatory signs are posted to inform us of what the maximum speed allowed on that particular segment of road way is.
I know that sounds like a convoluted explanation, but that is the way it works legally. You get ticketed for exceeding the posted speed or speeding, which the definition of is, exceeding the posted speed.
In other words, you are expected to follow the posted speed. Chances are, if everyone was doing 70, you are not in danger of getting a ticket as it is not being enforced, but are you susceptible to getting one? More than likely. -
Try to remember that huge space to your front that essentially provided you with an empty highway and all the time in the world to react. Tension is not the friend of concentration.
