I simply think the Canadians are jealous. Of course they're for it.

Actually the opposite. It is the big companies that want it!

I wish the government who doesn't have to follow these rules would leave us alone. Liberals purposely are trying to make jobs held by conservatives harder while liberal jobs like in Silicon Valley are untouched.

Don't see a huge issue with it. I understand time is money but I've been in a very uncomfortable situations in my personal vehicle driving through Richmond Va which could've ended in disaster due to truckers ignoring following distances, speed limits and plain common sense.

Well then you've probably noticed that when trucks do adhere to proper following distance, the 4-wheelers zip right in front of the truck, right ? Truck backs off, the next 4wheeler cuts in, repeat, repeat, repeat

So if new trucks are required to have these limiters installed, and the limiters are supposed to be "tamper-proof" in the computer, what would stop a guy from ordering a new truck with 5.46 rears to where he'd be pulling 1925 RPM @ 65 mph with 11R24.5 tires...and promptly swapping out the rear gearing for 3.94's? Change the dipswitches on the back of the speedometer and roll. ECM still thinks the truck is limited @ 65, but will cruise comfortably at 80 turning only 1700 RPM.

Or, just don't buy a new truck...

Not that I would know, but GPS would be in the works. Might be in the Elog or other electronics

The elog might rat you out IF you had one. If you're a local truck, you're exempt from the ELD mandate...as long as you don't need to fill out a log sheet more than 8 days in any 30 day period.
