The worst issue with going to slow over those things, and bunching up. Is that then you do not know which truck actually got the arrow to exit and which one got the bypass.
Thus you have to choose. Not a good decision to have to make. One did it in VA one day. He was going 10 mph where it said to maintain 45.
He got an automatic pull around. Nobody had been in front of him and all. 15 trucks were behind him before he got to the scale. -
Funny, when I get behind these idiots who don't understand what "Maintain XX MPH" means, it's not a mega carrier, it's usually a carrier I've never heard of or an O/O.
-
In florida, the speed approaching the pre-scale, before it determines whether to give you the bypass or pull you in, is 45. And its not recommended, its required. The sign clearly says "maintain 45 mph". I usually get stuck behind a moron who thinks that means 25. Usually a non english speaker that does it.
SHO-TYME and The Challenger Thank this. -
I like it when I get behind the guys who can't read the "Maintain XX Speed" in Michigan. It allows those of us with lift axles to cheat on the axle scales. They don't react fast enough to dump the air at 45mph.
-
Funny, for me it's usually a mega carrier.
-
NO! Its always a mega-carrier!!
Aye, somebody getting there panties in a bunch becouse they have to slow down by 10-20mph for a whole quarter mile, once in a blue moon??? Phew! thinking this person is having a really really rough time as a trucker! If something that small puts there undies in that big of a bunch, they are the mother of all ticking time-bombs waiting to go off.
-
No actually it just shows the stupidity of drivers that don't know how to read and obey traffic signs.
-
The other night I was behind someone just before the chowchilla scales and they slowed to 30 before they even exited....and thats a long ramp, than went 10 mph down the whole ramp, and than about 8 across the scales when it clearly says 20 mph
-
And I'm sure if it was at night the morons turned their headlights off also.
