    eyyyyyyyyyyyyyy trucker.

the speed sensor is right on the transmission my friend, its dirt cheap and takes about 3 minutes to unscrew and put a new one in...sometimes the wires get loose. take it off and clean the connections up and slap it back in there.

    - take off the passenger side step, crawl under and its literally right there.

    - try just restarting the truck though before you go thru all that.

----------- also another thing i was having an issue with was the 2 small wires that connect to the battery. they control your ECU...they get nasty and get loose and can cause a million headaches....including your gauges going ape ####

check those out also...wiggle one and see if your truck shuts off. i had to snip mine both and re-wire them and crimp new fittings on to them an tape the #### out of them.

    Jorge laredo Thanks this.

Hey guys, I’m wondering if I have the same problem as these guys. I have a 2000 Volvo VNM and the other day I saw my speedometer just going crazy up and down up until it stopped working. It doesn’t track the miles either and my Jake’s don’t work. The idle/diag. works fine and there’s times that the Jake’s do work. I have a scangauge too and there’s been a few times that the mph on that works on there and gets the jakes working but not the speedometer or miles. So I’m clueless whether it’s the speed sensor or something else.
