You mean oil/lube Technician. With a fancy title like that they can justify their rates ~ :p

    Currently Yamaha Roadstar.

One of these days I'm hoping to have a streetglide again.

I uess the 99 dollar pm's are out of the question anymore. lol
We do not have any lube shops here, so it is either do it your self or a dealer, which I imagine would be expensive.
Pretty much every oo I know of does their own, used oil is not a problem getting rid of as lots of oil burnering heaters around.

I have valves on my pan, but they are the kind that a cap screws on them and then you screw the drain valve and hose on when you get ready to drain it, nothing to get turned and opened up. I like them because I can just slide a 5 gallon bucket under it and stop it when I want instead of having to handle a full pan of oil at one time.

The semi synthetic will be a little more expensive but you should gain a little mpg.

The O'Reilly's in Rensealear takes oil, you are required to sign a form, a chain of custody if you will. They keep track of who brings in what volume. I get the distinct impression if they sell you the oil they are happy to take the used oil. They specifically ask is it nothing but used crankcase oil in the container, which they have to return to you. If they don't sell you the oil then it is different matter. And of course they don't sell oil for class 8 trucks at any kind of a reasonable price.
I would think it wouldn't make much difference EXCEPT as soon as they get into high volume transactions, the chances of them unknowingly taking in other hazardous chemicals mixed in by unscrupulous folks increases exponentially. The original purpose was to sell oil and filters to DIY automobile owners.
And contaminated used oil with unknown components could be very dangerous indeed.

Some people will mix antifreeze with their oil.

I don't think trans, rears, or power steering would matter.

I’m going to guess that gasses expelled by burning those things are bad for your health. I think it’s safer to throw them away.
