No way I'm doing 80k mile service intervals. 4 PMs a year is much cheaper than a motor. Lol. I use oil samples to monitor the motor but not for extended drain intervals. But, that's just me.
You can try those oil change places like jiffy lube. That's where I take my fluids if I need to.JonJon78 Thanks this. -
I did a pm on my n14 today. Had to look up the costs since I buy my oil and filters in bulk when they are on sale.
11 gallons of oil at 8.17$ gallon.
1 oil filter at 22.38$
1 fuel filter/ water separator at 17.87$
Grand total of $130.12 and took less than 45 minutes including greasing it and cleaning up.MM71, RStewart and Swine hauler Thank this. -
Not any more. It wasn't a problem in the past as water and oil wont mix. The antifreeze would just float on top and they could recycle that also.
Must bee all the newfangled chemicals that can contaminate the oil. :/PE_T Thanks this. -
It's got nothing to do with new chemicals. It's all about energy costs and the value of energy products. 30 years ago oil was cheap so used oil haf no value. they just "properly" disposed of it, aka lit a big ### fire. today oil is expensive so used oil has a value so they recycle it.
