Would you be saying the same thing if it was a felony convinction, "But it's just the one...."?

In most states, 20-25mph over the posted speed limit is considered reckless driving. Which is more than just a moving violation, it's a misdemeanor. (And honestly, that far above the limit in TX, you must've had either a very weary LEO, or an exceedingly kind one.)

Like other posters have already said, given your age, experience level, and the current state of the industry; don't be too surprised if you have a lot of difficulty finding work.

I wish you the BOL .

They mean no more than 3 minor violations...1 major violation will make sure their insurance company and safety department wont approve you for employment.

    I'm not ############ you...I have had a few tickets.

OK...you figure it out the hard way.

I call myself a wannabe because I know guys that have been trucking since 1962...when compared to those guys, most here are wannabes, including you.

I have "a few" miles under my belt.

Granted, it is a major violation but it's one violation ina non-CMV. Some small companies will hire you, because some of the cats I see, 1 ticket will make you look like a superstar. I just got off the phone with a carrier speaking about one of his former employees. I asked him did he use DAC reports when hiring or after firing this particular driver? The carrier, 10 or so trucks, stated "no." The gentleman was unaware of a DAC report. I speak to a number of carriers from big to a 1 truck operation, it has been my experience these smaller companies ,10 trucks or under, do not mess with the DAC reports. Now it's not every small company, but a good majority. Maybe this is something you have to do to get your experience.

There are hundreds of drivers out of work right now with that same exact license, but without the major speeding violation that you have. Insurance companies run the show now, that's why at 21 you will have a very difficult time finding employment, even if your record was clean. There will always be some renegade outfit that will hire you, but don't expect much from them.
