Here’s another question if the ticket gets delayed wouldn’t he be better off going and getting the A and then getting at least 6 month’s experience??

The type/quality of companies than can hire him will be terrible. It will be like sweeping up after the elephants in a circus parade just because he wants to work in show business. This job can be bad. Jumping in with that record is going to make it worse. It doesn't make sense to "break into prison". Wait 3-5 years. 1099 companies will rip him off and he may easily wind up inntrouble with IRS since almost all 1099s are tax cheats. Your brother will have to pay money out of his check for taxes or the IRS will wait and then hit him for taxes, penalties, and interest. Making that decision will be a second WTF decision that will make his life worse in 3 years.

He posted he's out of NYC where there's no pleading down the ticket.
I'd get the CDL anyway, so he's prepared when he is offered a job.
A couple of NYC cabbies, on this forum, found trucking jobs and they both had plenty of tickets and one had 12 fender-benders. They found jobs on Craigslist. Facebook also has trucking groups.Last edited: Feb 6, 2023

I’d get a really good lawyer see if he can get it dismissed on some technicality before applying for a truck company. He’s on thin ice right now just about any other moderate violation might make him unhireable.
Gamechangerzz Thanks this.
