Is speedometer a little erratic or steady? Yeah a Pawnshop GPS can capture your speed ($35) at Cash America.Thinking VSS (vehicle speed sensor) water and mud in it? Or company software program in ecu keeping you from speeding.

I have two GPS in truck and speedometer is lying 100%. First time I catch it was in construction zone radar shows my 10mph over.
Speedometer working properly from the morning or after long stop ignition off and it can work all day but after first stop or slow down it start lying +7 -9 mph.
    Sensor was replaced didn't help.
If speedo is working until vehicle stop it is not a cluster.
Looking for volvo software to check VECU.

I had that issue recently. I either had to read the speed off my Verizon navigator (I don't have a regular GPS) or clock myself with mile markers and my chronograph. I finally got the mechanic to fix it.

    some updates here.
After VSS replacement and wires checking, connectors cleaning I have not fix this problem.
Speedometer is working almost accurate from the morning or after long enough stop with ignition OFF and would work as long until first short stop. I start hate scale houses and red light. speedometer is lying about 10 -12 % less then real speed.
Somehow it affects the engine performance.
If someone can guide me what Volvo software to use for VECU reading and testing.
    Appreciate any help.

If your tachometer works ... just remember what the speedometer is recording (when it is working) in each speed range and gear ...

    Say 55 mph = 1425 rpm in 9th gear ...

    Snailexpress Thanks this.
