I was taught to use two spaces and still do.... and I admit I do not rely on a spell checker. I think that spelling -- and even grammar -- isn't so much an issue as poor punctuation. I can understand most posts here if sentences are started and ended cleanly and there are breaks between paragraphs.
As one poster commented, if the post is long, poorly punctuated, and runs start-to-finish in one big block of text, I usually pass over it. If I have to spend too much time trying to decipher the text, then I can't concentrate on what the poster is saying... so why bother to read it? -
