Spicer 1241D 4 speed Auxiliary

Can anyone recommend any reliable transmission builder In NC. that will rebuild a 1241D spicer, thank you in advance.

1985 Western star 4964-2 400 B model factory 5x4 and 275” wheel base. It’s had a slight whine for the last year or so in 4th (OD) weds it started very noticeable in 2nd and 4th now, realized it was a little low on oil, was not running warm at all though. Drained the oil after I delivered yesterday and checked for any damage very slight metallic shavings very very little. Definitely My fault for not realizing it was low sooner, it’s definitely leaking bad out of the vent. I’d like to have it rebuilt. Or at least see what’s going on. Of course work just somewhat picked up, may have to dust off the of the spares lol.

 

it really is enjoyable to run, most of the time. Few weeks ago I was having an off day and out a rtlo18913a and was going to swap these out I just decided not to tho
