I was having a lot of trouble getting a proper split axle weigh. Then a very helpful loves manager printed out their instructions for their computer for me. Now when I go in to get my ticket I carry them in with me. Before this it used to take 3 or 4 weighs sometimes before they would get it correct. Now it takes tops 2 times. I also started calling and complaining to corporate and cat scale whenever I get any attitude about it.
So here are your instructions;
Cashier: first weigh or reweigh?
Driver: first weigh, split axle weigh.
Cashier: truck number?
Driver: (number), weigh me on pads one and two then I will reposition and then weigh me on pads two and three.
Cashier: ok go ahead and reposition.
Driver: (moves the truck to second position splitting trailer axles on drive scale, pad 2, and trailer scale, pad 3) ok weigh me on pads 2 and 3.
Cashier: ok driver I got your weigh come on in.
If anything deviates from that script then they did it wrong. You will often have long pauses and sometimes hear multiple voices. That's typically a good sign. They are looking it up and/or asking their manager.
Then when you go in check your ticket before you pay. I had one manager try to charge me for an incorrect weigh. Some don't like to do that because drivers have walked out without paying before. I just hand them my fuel card as collateral.
And finally print out these instructions and carry them in with you. Worst case scenario you only have to weigh 1 more time.
Hope this helps.

Try weighing a multi axle with them and they don't have a clue...

Could this be how regular tandems can get an accurate individual axle weight

Getting in and out of a Loves parking lot with a multi axle would be be difficult enough.rank, wore out, johndeere4020 and 2 others Thank this.

The weigh my truck app needs this feature.

I don't screw around explaining it, I pull on weigh, go inside get my ticket tell them I'm going to reweigh before I pay, then I split the rear or cheater or whatever then pay. It's more walking but usually less frustration.

At any CAT scale all you should have to do is tell the operator that you need a split axle weigh.
On the CAT scale system they have a button for a split axle weight. All they have to do is press the button and follow the screens.
Not sure the number of axle groups they can do, if memory serves me it is 5.rank and Dominick253 Thank this. -
You are correct however half the time the still can't figure it out, McDonald's has pictures of the food on the screen and they still screw it up, truckstop fuel counter workers aren't much better.rank, macavoy, Dye Guardian and 2 others Thank this.
