I know, but not well enough. I still find it irritating to have to sit until the weather gets bad, or the traffic gets heavy, to be legal, when I was legal before the last rule change, every break in the sleeper over two hours extended the 14 as long as the breaks adjacent added up to ten or more, and a couple of my friends quit driving because the last rule change made it impossible to run some runs legally.

Yeah I can't compare to the old old rules, but it is basically like taking an 8 hour break, the only thing is you have to take a 2 hour break during your period or after the 8. I hear they are supposed to be releasing the rules are going to change again, not sure yet but I am waiting on the clarifications on this! I AM GOING TO GO LOG CRAZY IF THEY CHANGE! Back to scratch one on all the drawings! ANGER IS IN ME IF THEY CHANGE, BUT HAPPY FOR YOU IF THEY ARE BETTER! THey could be worse, like 8 hours driving and no more! l.o.l. I AM ONLY STATING MY OPINION, THAT ISN'T WHAT THE NEW RULES WILL BE! :thumbright:

Stick with learning it and don't give up! Then you will see "some" simplifications to logs and sorta the old days. (not much but some)

You can do it, as well, and as long as we work in this business as drivers, safety managers, log auditors, and dispatchers, we have to try to work within the rules, hopefully the enforcement people will learn it as well, we are all needed to keep the material moving, for manufacturing and retail, we have problems when anyone forgets that we all contribute.

We also need to remember that change is a constant, it is something we will always have to deal with. I hope that any change is for the better, at least simpler, easier to understand would help us all out and make things less open to interpretation by law enforcement and the courts. I can still dream :sleepy1:.

I was going to say wake up for that dream you are having there dude! L.O.L.

Yeah I know we all need to stick it out and not give up, but gosh every year something changes and it will be about the time I get the regulations taught to the drivers the proper way (of course I still have some confused). But yeah I will always stick it out and I hope the drivers do as well! Maybe they will make everything easier! I will be definetly sending messages to DOT regarding making the regulations more clearer on a few more Q & A's.
Like Pre trip & post-trip etc.
