Can you cite your source please? A link to it would be great.

I have as well but I've never started to cycle with the 2 hour break before the 8. I could never find an conclusive answer from a reputable source specifying that we could do the 2 hour break first instead of the 8.

Yes, I saw that but there's no source cited. I'd love to find an authentic answer to this.

That's very insightful. There's a long thread here on TTR about it. How about posting a link to the DOT legislation that actually answers the question? Now, THAT would be truly helpful.

Our Qualcomm's recognize the 2 hrs if done before the 8 hrs. Maybe your company has set it up that way

It's in the pocket manual, green bible, and reads rather ambiguously, but it works either way, be aware that the 2 doesn't stop the clock, while 8 in the sleeper adds 8 hours to the 14, and the 14 is figured from the end of the previous break.

EROAD doesn't do that correctly, but if you take the 2 first, it reads out right.

Doing the 8 in the sleeper first will not reflect correctly on the drive timer. It won't show a violation if you don't exceed drive time or the 14 hour rule even though the timer showed zero hours drive time.

    Glad I don't have a qcomm.

You wont find it because it doesnt exist. There is no requirement as to which period, 8 or 2, is used first.

That's a great way to burn through your 70 in a hurry. You can get a lot of driving done in a short amount of time tho.
