One logs sleeper for 7-8 hrs. Will need a 2-3 hr off duty time later. Other drives when you are in sleeper. 7-8 is up switch. When the 2-3 off duty is up. Switch back and forth. Don't kill yourself teaming and if you do just do a 10 and swap
My wife and I have been teaming for 6 years, and I have never had a situation where I thought it was necessary. I have done a split sleeper just once, but only because the company called me for a random screening and I had to go 8 hours into my break. We just run 12 hour day and night shifts. It's best for us to just stick to the same schedule.
