Split Sleeper - USA to Canada

    I need a clarity on the provision of Split Sleeper if you change country and thereby HOS rules.

    Example:
    If I start my work shift in USA with 8 hours sleeper/off duty (in split) and after driving for 5 hours, I enter Canada. Do I still need to have 2 hours in sleeper to fulfill the condition?
    As in Canada, you only need 8 hours off duty to reset your work cycle.

    Please advise

    My eld has never complained when I do that. If before completing a a full ten off or a reset you cross back, it will be a problem.

    Watch your rest periods, In Canada a 34 off will not do it, Canada is 36 off to reset hours.
