This is a “divorced” twin stick setup… 2 separate transmissions.
See the shift linkages above the driveshaft? 2 separate transmissions and 2 shifters sticking through the floorboard to operate them.
The “married” 16 spreed was (2) 4 speed transmissions bolted together. And used the blue shift knob with 1-2-3-4 on it. The thumb shifter operated the back box, and the shift lever operated the front box.
Now the blue shifter can be used on the divorced setup too…Attached Files:

I ran another wrecker - needle nose Pete with a 10 speed with 3 speed brownie behind it. That actually was a good set up. Drive like a 10 but split when you needed it.Hammer166 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.
