Engine coolant temperature sensor data is erratic. Probably an issue with a faulty coolant temp sensor or the wiring. Search for Volvo Manual Fault Codes on this site under the search bar. Also there is a detailed video of the sensors on the D13 on YouTube, search Volvo D13a sensor locations on YouTube.

    AlexD13 Thanks this.

Thermostat not responding or out of adjustment. Are you getting heat? Do you feel the hoses for hot water circulating? Sounds like your coolant temp sensor is shot, it should be an easy fix

That may fix your issue of running a little rough too, as the ecm advances and re-tards timing based on the temperature of the motor.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.

I spoke too soon. Another code came on for intake manifold sensor. So mechanic is now changing that

No its a bunch of other sensors. Mechanic found oil in Harness and said this could be causing your Problems

Yeah, sometimes it can be a ground issue that makes the ecm go crazy, and it starts throwing all types of codes. Oil or liquid in the harness can wreak havoc as the sensor doesn't read the correct resistance and faults out.

    KB3MMX and AlexD13 Thank this.
