Spot Freight... Pretty lousy

Yeah, they are alright. Rates are generally average to a little below. They are a small version of a large corporate broker if that makes sense. We use them occasionally. Never had any problems with payment or anything like that.

 

I don’t blame you for being mad. In fact I had a falling out with them that lasted over two years where we had each other blacklisted. Then, one day they needed me badly and I needed them and we put the past behind and worked together again. I try to never say never.

Like I said they are just ok. A lot of young guys working there and they rely on their “technology” too much. They also ha e tried to grow too fast which puts the margins thinner then needed unless beating down the carrier a lot.

Oh man, I thought thread title was just about spot freight in general and broker's name was deleted from your guys posts or something.
Anyway, gotta be careful with Arrive also nowadays.
They also started hiring young kids couple of years ago and things went to crap. I don't even book with them anymore after they cancelled on me couple of times

 

They are the only broker to send me a signed rate con, then call me 5 minutes later to ask me to do the load for less money. He said “ boss told me I over paid” LOL

 

Yea they are shady. Did a load out of long island ny to Elloree sc for them. My delivery appointment was for 11 am got there around 10. Did not get bills and released until around 5:30pm. After trip requested detention through their website because that is how they do it. Fine Did that few days later recieved email detention denied because no time on bol. When clearly there tracking app shows when I arrived and when I left I cannot park on site after offload. And also the ware house dock form has time printed when they released me. But I went ahead wrote the time on bol and resubmitted. I haven't gotten a reply to this day.

 

We never look at ourselves we like to shift the blame to others.Documenting time on the bol is the best way and most common to documenting time at a shipper or consignee and creating a legal document for waiting time.I’m guessing you understand that now and will do it now for detention time that you want to charge for
