Anyone else having to deal with this? Apparently it’s a Pennsylvania thing.

Anyone coming to most of the counties in southeast PA is now required to have this. I spend most of my time here right now and am wondering how they expect to enforce it.

"remove before driving" it says on the tag, so it is not something that will be visible to tell if someone has it or not. Only needs to be, as also instructed on the permit "hang on rear view mirror" when you are stopped then. So that will be on private property where you load/unload/fuel&break. So enforcement will have to enter private property to check trucks? And part of the inspection is to quiz drivers on their knowledge to make sure the know the rules. How will that work for the (too) many drivers that don't speak english? Will they just get a pass like they always do and those who can answer will be grilled on what they know? I have a lot of questions and reservations about the way this is being handled. It remains to be seen if they really do the enforcement the way it has been laid out.

you are supposed to be "trained" by your carrier and then get issued the permit, which is the tag in the photo at the top. There is no charge. You need it only if you are making stops in the infested areas of southeastern PA. The bug is spreading to NJ, DE, MD now and who knows what kind of scheme they will come up in those states. Imagine needed some kind of permit and documented training for every possible infestation across the US and Canada!

You know, they could just hire the US Air Force to to over fly the area spraying an insecticide, that of course won't harm people. They have a lot of experience doing that.

I know several times there have been C-130's flying over Charlotte spraying for some caterpillar infestation that has been going on for a couple years. They announce the schedule in advance so you can stay indoors or leave the area for a couple hours.
