A for the spring breakup ya real slow right now. We only have 2 rigs right now so we only go out to them every 3 days or so we also have 4 trucks that have to rotate on those jobs so haven't had a job up for A week heard I might be up on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Ya that area might be good for you. Gp, fsj, ft Nelson has some neat equip that we don't use in lloydminster so you can get a lot off experience for the future
-
good info, thanks! I may try to focus on those areas, just need to find a place to sleep in between work as my home will stay here in Vernon.
-
If you want to stay closer to home you could try red deer or Hinton shops.
-
bobbyt, do a lot of the trican guys come to work for the 15 on, then home for the 6 off? if so do they rent local places while there? stay in truck and trailer?
-
Ya I'm on a 15/6 schedule and from what I understand everyone is on the same schedule. We have to live within 1/2 hour from shop so yes we have to get a place closer to the shop We slip seat on the trucks so we don't stay in them unless we are on the road.
-
sorry, newbie, slip seat means?? you switch with another driver?
-
Ya for the most part. Each truck has its own tlr so one time you could be on a tandem trailer and the next load could be on a tridem they try to keep you on the same truck for your entire shift but doesn't always work out
-
I will have to ask the trican base manager if I can park a trailer in the yard, have you seen this done?
-
I know in lloydminster it's not allowed. Even the base mgr doesn't store his tlr in the yard over the winter. Can't comment on other bases.
