Anyone know of a reputable repair shop in springdale,ar? Pulling out of a dock with a steep incline my rear-end decided to either break teeth off the pinon and gear or something else back there let loose. I had to drop the trailer and lock in the power divider to move the truck so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need a rebuild, any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I would look up a heavy duty transmission and rear end shop. I wouldn't go to a truck repair shop unless theres nothing around. I've always gone to a specific shop for a specific job whether drivetrain or engine.
Strider and losttrucker Thank this. -
That's good advice!! I didn't even think about that, the only thing I've thought about is "that's gonna put a nice dent in the account" lol...well plus about how much freightliner would love to do this job at $105 an hour lol

I took your advice and found JAB INC. In springdale, top notch people and they specalize in drivetrain and that's it....I will be rolling in the morning newly rebuilt for under half of what Freightliner wanted!!
Strider Thanks this. -
Glad to hear that. Did they give you a rough quote ? Btw, when I took my older truck(now park retired) to get the front rear end replaced, I was in at 1:30pm and out at 5pm., just to let you know how quicker it is when you go to a shop where they have everything they need to R/R parts. If you would of gone to a dealer(freightliner) gaurantee you would of been in the shop 2 days by the time they go chase for parts and probably they would of gone to where your getting it fixed for parts

They did even better....to open it up and see what needed to be done was $75, which is waived if they repair it, once they opened mine it was obvious...the carrier bearing on the side of the case came apart and made the chunk sit at an angel so I needed a new case and a complete rebuild which came to $1,657.15 labor and oil included. But because I was to cheap to pay a wrecker it also ate an axle up which is another $150. Freightliners estimate to do the same work with the same warranty was $4,238...axle not included!! They pulled it in the shop at 2pm and it will be ready by 9 am tomorrow morning.
Diesel Dave and Strider Thank this.
