You're going to like it. I'm on my second week on the road in the Squire program.

I've had a lot of fun so far.

I'm based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Yea, I going out of olive branch Mississippi ( known more as Memphis Tennessee terminal). So far I love it. My driver manager is the same person who did my orientation and was also my recruiter. So, we have already talked a lot and I can tell we will get along great.

First thing tomorrow morning I hit the road with my trainer who just called and talked my ear off for over an hour. Seems like a pretty good guy that won't make me bored. Hope he trains as good as he conversates. So far I think that they are not lying about being a big company that feels small. I do not feel like a number at all and I hope it stays that way.

Smaggs, you still with Knight? I'm supposed to start driver training in Phoenix on the 9th. I was a Flat Bed driver for Werner a wile ago, been off the road for 9 years now it's time to go back to work (the kids are grown and out now). Any info/advice - I'm all ears.

There is a Knight Terminal right next to my school but for the life of me I can't get in touch with a recruiter. Could you PM a contact? I'd be interested in speaking with them.

    Good luck!

Sorry I had not posted back on here in forever. I actually had a terrible time at squire in the end. My trainer was bipolar to say the least. One second he's buying me dinner and the next he's yelling at me because i'm too tired to drive at 2am. He was extremely impatient. made me pull out in front of cars so close that they almost had to stop while i pulled out. i told him i was a morning person, but he didnt care and would drive 7 until noon then we would have lunch and he'd make me drive my full time.

I had a cist develop in my throat and had to go to the hospital twice while we were out. first hospital gave me hydrocodone for the pain. my trainer insisted that i drive less then 2 hours after taking the meds which is illegal of course. I picked squire partly because of their short training program... after 4 weeks was over they had no truck and made me drive the trainers truck with him with only my training pay for 3 more weeks before i saw home for the first time. that was 7 weeks out plus the 3 day orientation.

The guy in charge of training program out of olive branch said if i went home during training i would still be paid the 400/wk. that did not happen of course. and after my home time they tried sending me back with trainer until they found me a truck... i said no. got my truck after 2.5 more weeks of no pay.

They flew me out from florida to Phoenix to get my truck on a saturday. the truck was waiting for repair but they claimed it was done. Got to drive from there to Albuquerque and back for an albertsons run. got stuck at the pumps at a truck stop for 45 minutes because the air compressor would not run so the trailer breaks stayed locked. that is what it was waiting for repair for. spent the next entire week in the pheonix terminal waiting for them to figure out how to fix it.

I quit after that week. partly from that experience and partly because i realized over the road is not for me as i was massively depressed not seeing my kids. After leaving knight decided that since i no longer work for them that they were not going to pay me for picking up that truck ($78) or for the 3 days layover i earned before giving up ($144). i'm an email person not a phone person and i can not get anyone there to give me mr knights email addy to ask him about my money.
Sorry for the long post. and i hope no one else goes through what i went through.
