i went to the school too and its top notch and the company is not just a starter company either a lot of drivers stay with them sometimes you have to look past the cents per mile and look at the whole deal and weekly check i.e 44 cents at 1700 or 32 at 2800 they have the frieght and will run you and they will train you very well you will be more than a seat filling steering wheel holder

I agree 100% with buckeye we were both at the academy at the same time.In my opinion FFE is a great way to get into this industry

FFE all the way!! I'm in the MCM Grande Hotel in Desoto finishing up orientation after spending the last 2 weeks in the academy and am glad I chose them. I will be placed with a trainer by the end of the week to finish up the next 6 weeks of training and afterwards I will be given a 2013 Prostar (New trucks arrive at the Lancaster terminal everyday. I was ther for 30 minutes yesterday and saw 8 come in the gate) and head home for a few days then begin my solo career. It is very fast paced but they will prepare you for everything you will need to get started and get your CDL. Got mine today and all of my classmates except 1 passed. Everyone didn't finish the classroom or road tests during the academy portion of training for various reasons ranging from drinking while in training, not being prepared for tests or simply thinking they were gonna walk in and get handed a diploma and CDL. Won't happen! If you take it seriously and do your part you will succeed. Good luck!

Congrats Big foot you must have been in the class right after me. I have a trainer but I am at the hotel waiting for our truck to come out of the shop. I agree with you 100% FFE was the best for me I am sure of that.Be safe out there.

I was quoted $3900 and that is coming in with a CDL not sure if it is a differant amount without one or the same no matter what, they do not pro-rate it so if you do not stay the full year you will owe the full amount.

well your going to have to put a year in somewhere anyways -- all i know you dont find many bad things said from people that have graduated the academy and that says something for ffe -- there is no perfect trucking company and there never will be --- you just have to decide whats best for you -- a few people may slam ffe the company but i dont think i have ever heard any graduate slam the academy hey new i am in denver picking up for baltimore monday delivery in the morning so i get a day and night at home lol--- if i can still find it lol

why would you need the school and pay that much if you already have a cdl? that seems weird to me

if you,re away from otr for an amount of time..some companies require a refresher or if out too long to go back to school again. and for some reason local driving don,t count as experience if you,re appling to otr jobs
