those are tips I took off a buddies pete when we put 8" straights on it they need to be about 18" longer. I am absolutely amazed at how much quieter it is this way, also the cab has always leaned to the right a little not much just enough to pi$$ me off. when I took the second one off(pass. side) I heard air leaking from the cab leveling valve, the exhaust was in such a bind that it had the cab all twisted up perfectly level now....I'm just sayin'

It's quieter? I"m amazed that it's quieter now. Usually when the exhaust dumps out the bottom they're a big louder. I realize the exhaust is not dumping out directly towards the ground though. That could be the difference as to why it is quieter. I have heard a few complaints about the exhaust being louder on a t-600 with the exhaust dumping under the truck.

Actually it depends on your point of view, standing OUTSIDE the truck the exhaust tone is a little louder but not much. But sitting inside the truck at 65 mph there is no more banging, squeeking, rattling and the air ride cab rides 200% better in my opinion. Once I put longer pipes on it will be even better.

Are those Donaldson M100463 free flows under your T6?
-
Nope just the off the shelf $55.00 mufflers from KW. Donaldson sales rep says the free flows must be mounted vertically to stay free flow, and they won't warranty them horizontal, so if I'm gonna pay for them every 18-24 months its gonna be the cheap ones. They are walkers ( forget the part # but can get it if you need it) according to walkers flow chart they only flow 150 CFM less than the high flow. And if you read the fine print on the Donaldson's chart 1 high flow is equivalent to straight pipe so mounted in pairs the cheap ones will flow plenty. By the way if noise is a problem 2 Donaldson's "Silent Partners" mounted in pairs flow as well as 1 of the high flows, which is as good as a 5" straight pipe. But again mounting horizontal will effect warranty.

Calling BS on the sales rep claims that they won't remain free flow not even remotely possible they will plug. One look thru them you'd see what I mean. They're a cheap long term component anyways who needs a muffler warranty? My concern was going from longer 6" diameter stacks down to very short 5" pipes they'd be loud as hell.

I agree I looked also and don't understand how they will plug up either, my point was why pay twice as much for more noise and not enough flow increase to argue about? If I can get the same flow with less noise for half as much I'm all in. Look at my before pics I went from 13' pipes with 6" 48" tips to 36"x 5" chrome tips pointed about 45* out and noise increase was minimal, about 18" more pipe and turn them down a little it won't soot up my steps. Be patient I'm making this up as I go. I'll get it straighted out. Wait til you see what I'm gonna do with the compound turbos. Gonna be stellar.

Thanks in advance!
