Just a little info for the crowd that does not drive a Pete. The pipes have nothing to do with opening the door. We open the door cause it's like a bad ### Moto mirror. Really helps see the trailer when backing to the left. When Pete moved the mirror off the doors all the old hands hitched about it.

I drove a new W9 for a couple weeks. Every time I hit retreat the door come open and I cussed. The power mirror just didn't give me the visibility I was used to.

I hear ya on the mirror thing. When I bought my W9 I had to get used to opening the door and leaning out and looking back. It just don’t work any other way.

However, even in a KW, the pipes are not in the way of seeing down the side of the trailer.

Every combustible engine runs a specific measurement of air to fuel. It's called the stoichiometric scale. A motor on gas runs a 14.7 to 1 air fuel ratio. A motor on alky (which I used to run) is right at 6-1. A diesel is 14.5 to.1. Higher if turbocharged. Somewhere in the 15 range. What more would you like to share?

"It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a 1 pound coconut. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings 43 times every second........."

I think the standard truck exhaust is 5 in.

When I was a kid I had the typical hot rod with glass-packs.

Nowadays I wouldn't put anything larger on my truck unless I thought it would help the engine to breathe better and run better. I certainly would not be attempting to make the exhaust loud.

I have no interest in that whatsoever.

    On a 579 I’d go with 36” tall. 5” I.D. To 7” O.D. Tips and call it a day. It’ll keep you around the 11’ ish area.

Tall and wide has nothing to do with engine performance and everything thing to do with beautiful deep sexy sounds.

And if you dont like that it's no wonder you hate your job.

Anything bigger than 5" and your just trying to make up for your manhood or lack of shall we say. 5" out of the turbo straight into an elbow can't be fixed, but just to save argument it goes into Y and then you have 2 5" or 10 total.

Most pride I see here is tug toy's Int. Clean sharp and not trying to impress someone he will never meet. If he is as smart as his truck looks, he has more money also cause he didn't spend on what everyone else has. Nice truck Tug.
