Whatever helps you sleep at night, bud. Those numbers fluctuate easily by at least 25ish and aren't set in stone. Was the fan on during the pull? What was the ambient temperature? Etc etc etc. Again, you're clueless. I'll be placing you on ignore too. Why are you people so eager to argue and attack posters you don't agree with? You need a life.

What's the OD and length of your downpipe? Did you know that a six inch pipe can move almost double the volume of a five inch pipe? An eight inch pipe can move literally four times more volume than a five inch pipe. I'm going to be real generous and say at 2,000rpm you're bringing in 3,000cfm at 80psi, and outputting 4,500cfm. A single 5" pipe can move 7,600cfm. So even giving room for max fudging, (and I was being pretty generous already) you're not even close to the ceiling on a 5" pipe. Regardless of how much fuel you're throwing at it, a 15 liter engine isn't very big, and 2,000rpm isn't that fast, so you just don't need giant exhaust. Hell, a 350 Chevy turning 6k is moving more air. (boost for boost)

If you were talking about little exhaust, and moving up to say 2.5" from 2", I'd probably agree with you. But 5" exhaust is massive in volume. I said before that you could support 2,000hp on 5", but in reality you can support closer to 3,500hp on 5". It's just that big.

We are eager to argue because we've done the research or have an opinion. And when you try to contradict reality, we just arent going to take that lying down. (More gpd end)
As far as the opinion goes, why defend it so vociferously? Probably because youre insisting that a subjective view i had which i clearly stated to be an opinion was invalid.

Im allowed to think big pipes are ugly the same that you are allowed to think theyre beautiful. but you dont get to tell me that my opinion is wrong, the same as i have no right to tell you your opinion is wrong.

I AM however allowed and i somewhat feel dutybound to explain my opinion if someone tells me its wrong.

    Also: boredom

It’s all going to be okay folks…

Bigger pipes don’t mean you break down more frequently…

Bigger pipes over 5” most likely won’t increase power…

    Might they help Lower EGT??? I don’t know, I don’t care because I’m keeping what I got…

Will they really help when most Downpipes are 5”???

Again… the world will still turn with or without big exhaust…

Thats not what i meant, i meant that the people with big stacks/hp tend to be the people that end up in the shop more often than is sane, the stacks arent causal, its building an engine with more money than sense and then driving it like its factory. Which is a good way to destroy things. Thus the shop time.

there are some things that make sense to have big hp on, but they are fringe cases

That's really not entirely true. Yeah there is a certain point of HP when you are more likely to be inside that motor more than most but it's higher HP than most would think. And yeah it depends on what engine and the driver and how it's tuned. I'm around 700 at the flywheel and my foot is to the floor a LOT. And I've got 7inch stacks so that's an extra 150hp right there.

I forgot the whole point of my post. Bigger than normal hp and big stacks but yet I haven't been inside the engine for 5 years
