Thanks for the info on Koch. Guess he will be in orientation August 17th. Seems like a good company, as far as trucking companies go.
We will just have to take it one day at a time.
Does anyone know how they are about setting appt. times. The company he is with now will give you 8 hours to do a 1000 mile load that was scheduled to be picked up two days ago, and not even think about rescheduling it. SMX gave you a book, and you looked in the back and got the miles and then it gave you the hours you had to make it there. This was perfect, they never pushed or gave you a late load.
Good Luck and Be Safe,
Stan Koch...thinking of going back.

Thanks Mev for the info. Do you work Koch? Just curious. My husband is leaving tomorrow for orientation. I was reading the reviews though of the hotel they put you up in, and unless this place has changed, he could actually see an episode of COPS being filmed there...LOL
Thanks for the info.
Do you know how they are as far as the time allowed for delivery, do thay give you loads that are late already alot? The company he was with does that ALL the time.
Thanks for the info, -
You grab it and go....if you even stop to peeee you will make it late and get a "service failure" ...its absurd and pointless
They have what they call an OTR division but its more like a 'take up the slack' division for all the other divisions....best to connect with Best Buy dedicated
....OTR is dead -

I worked for Koch for a couple years before taking off last november to work on some personal projects. I'm now preparing to go back because they are a great company to work for. The complaints i've read are the same one's you'll read about every company. I've worked for alot of companies big and small, good and bad, within and without the law, all kinds of circumstances and in 13 years of driving I could probably count the times I was late on both hands, so when I hear drivers talk about always being late because____________(fill in the blank),i'm pretty sure it's the driver and not the company or circumstance. The economy is dragging along and if your not getting the miles at X, you're unlikely to find them at Y or Z either. Find a solid company and do your best(be professional and on time) and ride out the storm.Best to all.

You obviously have never driven for this company because if you had then you would not be spitting the bile that you are. Koch is in the top 5 Best Trucking companies to drive for year after year. The staff is superb and the dispatch bends over backwards to help you. As far as this making you stay out for 4 weeks with only 4 days off crap goes..That's total BS.. You clearly have no clue what you are talking about..Sad really...

Woodwindow, do you work for Koch? Because I can tell you that a lot of what you post is not the way they treat drivers now. My husband just left there and I can honestly say that not once in his time there, did anyone bend over backwards to help him with anything. They were all rude, inconsiderate and just not good people, with the exception of Connie in recruiting. He did always manage do get home on time, but that was the only good thing I can say about Koch. I would advise any driver that if they are looking at Koch, to stop and look somewhere else first, don't even waste your time here.

LOL Sounds like you are trying to convince people that you don't have poor decision making skills? If it quacks like a duck it is probably a duck. truckers wife1 husband seems to have found that out.
Good or bad economy you don't have to settle for outfits such as Koch if you are a true professional. If you do you are either desperate lazy or both.

That's a load of bull If you drive a VN670 they can't be that great to drive for. What a piece of carp that truck is I'm sure the turnover numbers must not be getting included in the survey either.

Just left there 2 days ago after being there almost 2 years. A lot of what has been said is true. It all depends on your DM. They have what many of us drivers called the CYA board. there where two of them, and they are the boards that what is left at the end of the day will get dumped on the drivers on these boards. As far as disptach bending over, missed home time request because could not pick up a load legally, and even had to fight with my DM about this. They ended up giving me another load that had a drive through for one night. They called this my home time, after being out 4 weeks. Said that if I wanted home time, needed to put in for it for another 2 weeks away. This is bending over to help you. Again, alot depends on your DM. Theire JIT frieght, especially out of Warren, would could end up stuck on one of them. At the most, 650 miles, for 3 days. Also, they are going to Electronic Logs in either January or February, which is really going to hurt lots of their JIT freight. Feel free to PM and I will tell you all that you need to know, and as far as their so called Driver Liason, he knows what the company tells him, and he says that he knows everything. He will help if he likes you and thinks that he can help. Most of the drivers now just avoid asking him for any help.
