Just got hired by this company and start orientation on Monday. Was going to make another thread, but think I may add onto this one. It's a big change going from Swift to a small place like Stan's. Really hope it works out. Got tired of the Bs at swift and hope this is a better fit for me.

Well head to Pueblo CO to pick up the rental car today. Got about a 715 mile drive up to South Dakota. Could have flown but I wanted to be able to bring all my stuff with me so I wouldn't be trying to get back to New Mexico right away.

Good luck. I too have heard good things about Stans. I went out and enterviewed after I left TMC in 2011. I liked pretty much everything they told me. To be honest, reefer was why I eventually declined. I've flatbedded most of my career. Couldnt bring myself to pull reefer. Went to a flatbed company right about then. I'm still here. But to someone who likes van and reefer, I think Stans could be a good option based on how that interview went.

Made it to the hotel. Go to the main office in the morning. Thankfully orientation is short and sweet. After 3 years at Swift it was kind of nerve-wracking to make the choice to do this. I mainly wanted to leave swift due to just not enough consisten miles and several different company policies. Can't lie that I am nervous about things not working out. I just don't want this time spent to get up to South Dakota to be a waste. Time will only tell. I'll keep y'all updated.

Just from the way orientation went, I have a good feeling about this. Time will only tell of course, but a lot of my worries have went away. Tomorrow I will road test and get training on peoplenet. Should head out Wednesday morning.

Officially a member of the Stan's family. From the sounds of it i will probably be doing one of there short down and back runs (600 miles). Then eventually get something else to take the nations highways. Not looking forward to the brutal winters but i will survive.

    bzinger and Lonesome Thank this.
