Star has went down hill and bottomed out. FFE from what I have been told is not that great either. Look up lone wolf on here. He started and finished with FFE. Why limit yourself to those 2 companies?

Well I have been with FFE for two months now and probley won't be there any longer than it takes to find another job. After being out of trucking for 7 years they were one of the few who would put me on with a 2 week hitch with a trainer. He just ran me like a team and pocketed all the miles. What a racket. Been out here two months on my own and can't seem to put together a 2000 mile paycheck. Get one good load a week and the rest is sitting and sh-t. They have me running a 07 truck and I have lost many hours waiting to get stuff fixed on this piece of crap. BTW they did the bus ticket thing for me to go get this piece of crap. Stay out of Lancaster AT ALL COST. That place is filled with nothing but the most stupid, lazy, degenerates in all of trucking. Dispatch is piss poor, and don't ever try to talk to a real person on the phone. USE PEOPLE NET is all you hear. Very slow and time consuming and you never know who it is on the other end. MESSAGE FROM UNKNOWN! PayRoll has not been that bad but you must watch them as they will pay miles on the trip and not the reimbursements on the same paycheck all the time. I think they try to see if you forget them. Stay out of the shop, get all work done on the road believe me. They don't match loads with drivers hours available so stuff is always late, switched out,and just messed up. If you are in the area and there is a load they will put it on you whether you have time for it or not. Latter when it is running late and the #### hits the fan they blame you. They gave me 5 years credit for my thirty years experience, started .31 a mile. What a joke. Did a GFS load last week, sat 7.5 hours IN THE DOOR got ZIP. Plan on giving up a lot of time for FREE. I really have nothing good to say about this place and look forward to moving on real soon. Two months down and maybe 3or 4 more before other company's will even look at me. That whole 1yrs in the last 2 or 2 in the last 5 thing they are doing out here now. Been out 7 and still drive better than most out here today. Love watching the parking derby at the truck stops at night, How do some of these guys even get down the road. WOW The sad thing for me watching it is knowing they are probably getting paid more than I am. All I can say is I would not recommend working for these people if you don't have to. If so use them as a stepping stone and move on. I WILL.

The Trucks run 62 and might touch 63 and thats where they stay. There are a few old O\O trucks that will run 70 but FFE runs the slowest trucks in America. Wait till you are putzing around America at 62 mph and you will feel real good about yourself. Others will feel good about you too holding up traffic and you will hear about it and see plenty of your # 1 for going ssoo slow. It kind of reminds me of when JB and Schneider, and buster brown did this crap back in the 80s to save money on fuel. The Company saved money and the driver worked harder. Thats FFEs motto. Now all those company's will blow buy you like you are standing still. There are NO Bonuses of any kind and in general they could care less about you. It's all about them. If I remember right BC\BS is $115 a week so you are paying for most of it. Not a good plan. The DO NOT have workers comp but use a private system. What this means to you is if you get hurt you will also get screwed. They match NOTHING in 401K and there are really no benefits working for FFE. This company is dying, their stocks are down, and DOT is all over their ###. That is why they opened a driving school and went to E-Logs. They need new people with LOW CSA scores to get DOT off their #####. Than there is JBS taking over the meat market and putting pressure on the whole REEFER business. Well I hope that answers some questions for people out there. I know it did for me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ASAP.

Well I was with FFE for a year and left back in Dec to take care of some personal isseus with my kids. With that said and finished I am going back to FFE, starting orientation on Aug/15th. When I was there I had no issues really. The miles was good, trucks are ok however they are slow my truck was set at 64 and thats fast for FFE. pay was always correct, the people I delt with are all frindly, The Dallas shop is slow expect at the minimum a over night stay for a small fix up to a week if your truck needs to go to the dealer to be fixed. let see going home, I live in Tampa, one of the harder cities to get home to becuze not much freight comes out of FL However I did get home every 3 weeks by my choice, they will get you home in two if you ask but they are not great with that. 3 weeks out is the norm. when I did go home I stayed home for 3 and some times 4 days and they did not give me a hard time, one time I stayed home for a week because I didn't fell well and they were ok with it but I could tell I was starting to get on someones radar. over all I did enjoy my time and thats why I am heading back on the 15th. listen to other drivers because not everyone has been happy at FFE. I have been in this business for 25 yrs and seen it all so its easy to deal with whats coming at me but not every driver can handle the road or company and dispatcher crap so they have a hard time. Always keep an eye out for the good dispatchers and try to work your way into his borad and then work to become one of his/her good drivers and life will be easier. You got to work them so you don't get worked (screwed) Its a love hate relationship but thats just the way it is.

Oh yeah the other driver is correct, the DOT is busting FFE's gonads right now. Ther rating is high so exspect a pull in so always make sure your stuff is up to date and the truck is good to go because you will be the one getting the PSP points and at some poin when your PSP get high enough they will be looking to drop you like its hot and no one else will be looking to take you on either. FFE is a DOT marke company so protect yourself in that respect!

I had my start with FFE they will drive you to DEATHHH!!!!!!! Ya and like the last guy said, they dont care about you and I dont recommend them either!!! I had a court date where I could have lost my CDL and they headed me in the other direction. THE HORROR STORIES GET WORSE!!! I have many more about them :) DO NOT GO FFE OR U WILL HAVE A BAD TASTE FOR TRUCKING IN YOUR MOUTH ALREADY FROM THE BEGINNING...DONT DO IT!!!!!!! I'd recommend WERNER since they are the only company that take beginners and they have Automatic Logging which means you will learn about driving hours about whats right and whats wrong for sure. Also they have different divisions, which means if you start out hauling frozen food and you dont like it you can more than likely switch to the flatbed division after a certain amount of time and try that without having to switch companies. I wish I would have had my start with them!!!

ALL COMPANIES r gonna be about the same, its gonna be the little things and who you end up working with which will determine if you like it where your at or not. If you got more questions HOLLA AT ME!!!! Ill help where I can but all this that I'm saying is just MY OPINION, somebody else might recommend somewhere else. GOOD LUCK!!! startin outs rough but suck it up for 6 months with a clean record and doors will open to you to many other companies, keep a clean record for 2 years and you can go to ANY COMPANY!!! :)
