Starcar questions

    I have a couple general questions. I'm not shopping really hard, there was a truck near me for sale last week. The ad was really shy on info. It was a 1993 day cab, water truck, tandem axle. It sold before I could go look, they were asking $4500.

    Ad said 3406 CAT. Does anyone know the last year you could get a 3406B in a Star?

    The ad said it had an 8 speed tranny. Is that possible? I'm thinking 13 speed...

    Is there any rhyme or reason for the model numbers used? There were none given in the ad.

    The ad said it had a 1210 steer and 1240 rears. Google got me nothing on that.

    Any help is 'preciated.

    The tranny maybe an 8LL is my guess. It has eight standard speeds and two extra deep reduction gears for off road or heavy haul.
