My wife and I had to hang it up for a bit after a year of consecutive breakdowns in brand new trucks. It financially killed us and we had to take some time to recoup! Though Central helped us in getting us some large settlements from Volvo it still didn't replace the draining of our bank accounts, so we came off the road to re-think the whole owner operator career. We eventually got back on the road as owner operators and our last year we spent as company drivers hauling horses over the road before retiring and starting our own business at home, opening our own horse training facility.
