    RevKev,

How are the miles looking now that you are out with a trainer? You know McElroy likes to keep those top secret lol. I could not even get an average number out of them. I am really interested in the company. I am just nervous about there being enough miles and money being made.

Well, I've only been out technically 3 days now, the miles each day are: 486, 345, & 290. Not sure what the deal was for part of yesterday & today with the shorter runs, but from what I've researched, it happens from time to time. Of course, there's really no way to get a real feel for average miles when considering only 3 days into it.

I understand. Maybe I should check back with you on Friday? Then you would know the total for the week.

Yes, I would. Still, tough to figure an avg based on one week. :)

Things went well during my first week out on the trainer truck. Even ended up getting home yesterday before my bride got home from her job. My trainer's been very helpful with pointers, "how-to's", & "what-not-to's". As expected, I've seen just how much there is for a newbie to learn/know before taking his/her own truck out solo. None of it is difficult to understand or pick up, but there are just a lot of little details -- be they in regard to load securement, load pick up and/or delivery, etc -- that one will best learn thru sheer repition. While I'm sure every newb wants to get out there on their own ASAP (& I'm no different in that), at this point I can definitely see why it's best I'll be on a trainer truck another 3 weeks.

Well, Week 2 on the trainer truck has begun. Been from Corinth, MS to Memphis to drop a coil --- okay, so we didn't actually drop it; a crane picked it up --- then on to Brownsville, TN to pick up a load to be delivered to a Lowes in Nashville. Sitting in that Lowes lot till morning to get it unloaded. Arriving at the Lowes DC early & finding the trailer already loaded & tarp on it just waiting to be bungeed & strapped was nice!Things are going well. Still learning each step of the way, obviously. After all, what else is a newb gonna do at this point? Oh, I suppose there IS always whining, but from what I've read in several other threads plenty of other folks already got that covered. ;~)
    Y'all be safe out there!

    Lefty1 Thanks this.
