Sounds like you didnt get much information when you were accepted. As some others have said - you'll need that permit. YES study the book, take the pre-tests on the web and study more.

You have to have your permit before going to class. No way around that!

I was at work for my current job when Alice called me to inform me that I had been accepted. So since I was sort of busy she didn't give me to much information, she only mentioned that the next available class would be April 25th, she asked if I would be able to make that class and I told her yes, she then said I would need to make a $100 deposit to hold me seat for the class. I couldn't obviously make that payment while I was at work, also the following day I was broke anyways so I didn't call back last week to make the payment however I plan to call right away tomorrow morning. I really hope nothing has changed, and hopefully things go good tomorrow when I call her back to make my deposit. I am sure she'll give me all the information I will need to know at that time?

bdanning264...YES you will need to get a DOT physical....you can go to pretty much any "doc-in-the-box" and get one. Make sure you ask them first to make sure they do the DOT exam. Don't know the cost up in Wi. but usually runs between 50.00 and 75.00 here in Ga. Good luck and welcome aboard!!

Also to add, when you go for your DOT physical let them know you don't need the urine test. You will get that at the beginning of orientation. That should save you a few bucks as well.

Awesome, thank you for the responses and all the help! I am getting really nervous and starting to not sleep at night just thinking about everything I will be learning and what I need to do before I get there and of course just the overall worries about doing well in the class.
