Good luck on getting that paperwork in Zangief. I've been working with Alice. She always has the answer to my questions.

Thanks Old Boar. Yeah, it sounds like Alice has been really great to a lot of the drivers posting on here. It sounds like Millis is a quality company with a lot of great people.
-
Zangief, did you get into the 4/25 class? Spoke with Faye yesterday, I see what you mean about her. She very open to helping out. Alice and Faye's attitude makes me feel even better about my decision to go with Millis.

I just talked to Fay and was told that my application had been turned down! All she would or could tell me was that they had "chosen better applications".
She said I could reapply in six months, and I asked her what I could do to make sure my application was "better" next time, and she couldn't say. She gave me what seemed to be the company line of "they just chose better applications" about 4 times in the conversation.
For the life of me, I just don't know what they could have had a problem with. I haven't been working for the entire last 3 years, but it's not like I've been jumping from job to job either. I owned my own mortgage company for 6 years, which I proved with documentation from the MN Secretary of State. I'd still be doing that if the real estate market hadn't completely tanked. After that, I drove a taxi cab for a year and a half, which I also proved with written documentation.
In addition to that, I have a clean driving record (I've never had a moving violation in my entire 30 years of driving), and absolutely zero problems with the law of any kind, ever.
I don't know what they saw that they didn't like. All I can say is I'm shocked and pretty disappointed. It would have been nice, because Millis sounds like a great company. Oh well, back to the drawing board I guess. -
Sorry to hear, Zangief! Stay after it!
I've got 2 days left with my current employer. I'm ready to start class, and learn all I can. -
Sorry to hear that guys. Keep your chins and your attitudes up. There are good companies out there. Keep us posted where you land and how it is there. Best of luck!

It's my last day of work at the hospital. I head home to take care of any final necessary items, catch a plane Sunday to WI, and school on Monday. Been a LONG 3 weeks.
-
I'm sure you're excited to start your new journey OB. Go in with a good attitude, and open mind, and ope eyes and ears. Have fun with it but learn as well. Shout at me if you see my truck up there, #7077. Actually I think I'll be up there Sunday/Monday, so definitely look me up on your break and introduce yourself.

Will do Bear63.

I've got one, maybe two, more questions on pay. As far as HHG vs pratical miles, and per diem vs non-per diem, what does experience say is the best way to go?
