We made it! Currently on the shuttle to keenseburg. 9 guys loaded and not sure how many are already there. Mr. Mizzou is here and is a nice guy. That bus ride though..... thankfully it was largerly uneventful and arrived only 50 mins late.

Good luck to you. I got my start with Stevens back in '09. I stayed with them two and a half years and I've never regretted it. I feel the top notch training, emphasis on safety, and true nationwide lanes really prepared me for the job. The only downside for me was only getting home every 5-6 weeks, but if you're single you'll do fine.

I currently drive team with my wife for a medium sized company based out of my home state of TN, and we get home every weekend. Btw my wife is originally from Egg Harbor City/ Mullica Twp and still has family there. We were just up there a couple weeks ago for a weekend (our dispatcher got us a load delivering on a fri in Jersey and we just took our hometime there. One of the perks of trucking).

anyway, best of luck. If you have any questions feel free to ask, though my info is probobly a little outdated since I haven't worked there for a few years.

    TLeaHeart and ajb293 Thank this.

Which housing are you staying in? How do you like those trains?. Good luck, 4 weeks ago I was where you are now. So far, it's been a great adventure.

I'm in the house next to the kitchen korner back part that has 6 bunks one kitchen and a bathroom / shower. I have a bottom bunk and today I actually drove the class to their physicals. Everyone in our group passed but my blood pressure has to be rechecked Tuesday as my bottom number is hovering around 100 (I'm 31 not that over weight) it runs in my family though and I probably need a medication change. The goal is to get it fixed before I get to Dallas. I think everyone in my group will do well here except for maybe 2 or 3 people for different reasons. I personally love this town Keenesburg cause it is the complete opposite of everywhere i have ever lived. Some people obviously hate it, the train however is just down right annoying and actually rolled through 4 times between midnight and 1am last night. Snow will be rolling through tonight and tomorrow about 4 inches total. I got to get back to my pre tests :)

Today we signed our contracts and it looks like I'm at a funeral right now. 3 people were vocal about leaving when everything was laid out. I'm still excited and can't wait to actually be working. I'm curious how the chatter is going to go tonight. My class size is around 30ish but that includes people from CRST. I'll get the actual count after permits on Thursday. Tomorrow is the first yard day which while cold as balls should still be fun. The weather people dropped the ball on the recent snow storm there is nothing here and now they are calling for 4-8 on Friday / Saturday.

I went through the Dallas School and looked around the very first night, there were 35 people, of those 4 of is graduated on time, another 4 rolled back a week and graduated then, expect a high attrition rate.

Almost 3 years later there are two of us left, myself and one of the roll backs.
