What do you mean?

The school and the training that you receive there will be top notch. But trust me you will not have the time to go snowboarding.
-
I was just in marshfield last week for orientation, I agree no time for snowboarding. The hotel does have a pool and whirlpool which I found relaxing after a 10 hour day doing paperwork and getting lectures. The hotel is decent and in a central area, target, gas station, grocrey store, a few fast food choices all with in walking distance. Hope everything goes well for you in Marshfield

You're likely right, but I am very energetic. If I have a free Sunday, and a mountain isn't too far off, I'll be on the slopes! Very nice that they have a hot tub.
-
Rib Mountain is about an hour east of here. They have plenty of snow. Good luck, maybe I will get to do your road training.
-
I look forward to it. I'm excited. An hour is a nice little trip, I'll see how I feel after the first week. I am looking forward to that hot tub though. A few laps in the pool, then a nice hot soak should keep me fresh and limber for whatever you guys have to throw at me.

You can end up sitting and waiting at shippers and receivers plenty! Some places move trucks through pretty decent, and others seem to like to see how long they can take to load a truck or unload one.
-
Yeah, I remember sitting at a receiver in MD in a snowstorm in 2004. They said "Pull up over there and we'll come get you in a little bit." A little bit turned into 4 hours, and they woke me up at 2:30am to back in. Being a mostly asleep new driver, backing a white trailer in a snow storm, near other white trailers, at night... I dinged one of their trailers. It went on my DAC as a "non-DoT reportable accident" and it was brought up when I talked to the Roehl recruiter.
What was my point? Oh yeah... I could have fixed that ding myself for $10, and I got $30 or something for detention pay... lol ...
P.S. It was a dime size hole in the sheet metal on the trailer side. I realized that I wasn't lined up right, but by the time I did, I had just barely touched the other trailer. As I pulled away, something on the door punched that tiny little hole... -
Matt, you won't get a Sunday off, you might get an afternoon off... Unless you plan on bringing your own car all the way up there, you'll not get a ride to go snowboarding either.
If you do bring your car, how are you going to get it home after you leave in a truck? Make sure Roehl knows you plan on bringing it, so they can plan accordingly for your training and sending you home to get your stuff without leaving your car 600 miles from home.
