I enjoyed my time with TMC, but the pay just wasn't there for the time spent on the road. Hard to pass up LTL pay and benefits.
what does the DDC stand for? I have looked at this job but it seems unclear to me. You can apply with a class A or a permit. So they are training you basically as if you have never been in a truck? How long is the training? where do they train you? what is the pay during and after training. I live in NJ
DDC - Driver Development Course Yes 4-8 weeks depending on how you progress In the Yard Dependent upon the grade of the region you are in and if they hire you in at step 1 or higher. What terminal are you specifically looking at?
Good luck at FedEx, welcome to the LTL world where you would put more miles backing up and blindside while traffic is coming.
I went to linehaul at the beginning of the year. None of that customer facing blindsiding off the street for me anymore!
I have an interview with them Friday. How is the pay with FedEX starting as an apprentice? And after the program is done do you get a raise? Can you start off as a Road Driver after the program is done?
Pay varies by region. I think @classicst started as a driver apprentice and after that became a road driver.
