Yeah you can. Just roll up the excess and tuck it under the load leaving about 3 foot to roll up in the winch. 554D218E-1C54-4532-9E1A-19C34CD5C6DE.jpeg 50863ADA-39B9-4485-8D07-8DFAA76E21F7.jpeg

You could cut the binder end off the cheater bar and then slide a pipe over it. Making it longer. You get more leverage.

If you have too much strap spooled around the winch, it will make the strap feel spongey. I do 3 turns around the spool and snug.

Try this. I’ll use a right hand, just do the opposite for left hand.

Stand facing the trailer, The winch you want to tighten to your right. Winch bar should be close to level, a bit up or down is OK. Take your left hand and grab the rub rail. Your right hand on the winch bar, about 3/4 or more to the end. Keep your arm at your side, your hand should be in line with your shoulder, a slight bend at the elbow. Feet should be a bit spread, like about to take a step. From this point, bend at the knees and drop straight down. You will be surprised at how much tension and force you can put on something. Since you are supporting yourself with the hand on the rub rail, offset from the bar, should something slip, your not eating metal or dirt. Plus it is a lot less stress on your shoulders.

I’m pretty new, but some loads you can’t over tighten anyway, such as sheet rock

How is that even physically possible, I’m sitting here trying to figure out how he used his face to push the bar, hell maybe he used a little tongue action too

Meaning he was tightening the bar with his face hovering over the end of the bar. One slip with ur hands and that thing will knock u out cold.
