Yeah it is pretty sad, Jim was able to go up and back down in 10. I had to downshift to 9 because Al said I couldn't pass Mark lol. I hope the trainer I get on with will take me up some big mountains tho.
JP that's too badI was looking forward to seeing you, but I hope you can get everything taken care of so you will be ready to go next spring.
Sequoia, thanks for the advice about that expedited stuff, I'll pass that on to Victor. But I'm not even sure if he is going to get into driving, I'll have to ask him.

If you guys are hitting the big roads tomorrow, I may be at the San Antonio Flying J tomorrow. Either there or the Tampa T/A. I'll have to see how bad traffic is and if I'll have enough time to make my delivery.

Sequioa we were at that Flying J in Sant Antonio yesterday! I just saw your message, dang
I didn't even KNOW there was a 'San Antonio' in Florida until we went there LOL.
It was interesting to catch a glimpse of our soon-to-be new life, the driver's walking to the showers, the tv room, the super expensive trash food...
Today we drove to Punta Gorda via Myakka City and Arcadia. Lots of country driving, it was nice. I've taken some photos and even made a video so I will post them soon.
Hubby did his road test and passed today, woot woot! I even think he did better then me lol. Now we both have our Class A'sGonna go somewhere fancy to celebrate this weekend - Golden Corral!
JP11283 Thanks this. -
Great! Yep, I-75 x285 is the San Antonio/Dade City Flying J.
I actually stopped by pTEC today but you guys were already out on the road so I talked to the new class for a bit before I had to go. -
Very nice thread here. A+!!!

I'm so glad both of you have passed and have your CDL's. Now you can be a husband-wife team out here on the road, racking up miles, seeing the country, eating the expensive truckstop food (hey now, there is Subway at many of these truck stops!). I'm very excited for both of you because teams are always in demand.

Thanks DocG! Thanks Sequoia! We are excited too, just a little bit worried about whether we will like sleeping while the truck is in motion. And a little bit nervous about passing the driving tests in orientation.
All last week we just drove to far distant places lol. We all now have around 500 miles under our belt and only a few weeks left in the course. I'm past due posting some pics so I'm going to work on that today. Here's a video I made of my husband practicing the parallel parking maneuver:

Wow.....did not think I'd see someone else from Ft. Mysery on here. Congrats on getting your CDL's. I'm looking at going to a school but not sure if I'll be able to get on with anyone just yet so checking into some things first. Good luck on the road.
strawberryrhubarbpie Thanks this. -
Hey strawberry, I'm glad to see some pictures. I just finished orientation at Roehl. Waiting on a trainer to get assigned to me today, hopefully I'll see you out on the road soon!
