I went to Roadmaster in Orlando in December of 09'. I will voch for RM. Great instructors to say the least. In order to train at RM in Orlando you are supposed to have three years. Ron the head over at Orlando will not look at you until you have five years. I got mine paid for by Voc Rehab. The yard master Ray was a former teamster and very good at explaining stuff. Dan, the class room instructor was very good. If you did not understand it, they explained it. John and my other instructor on the road were good at helping me preparing me to test out. Brooks gave me good yard skills. Thanks to him, I have the backing skills I possess. Overall RM was very good and you get what you pay for.

I think that job placement is at 97%.
That is their biggest selling point.
The training is run of the mill, about average for a 3 week course.
They DO have a higher than average number of complaints.
But, folks around that bay area, have few choices.
Howabout an update ArmyGuy !!! -
I definitely have no complaints about the road master here in Tulsa Oklahoma. They really do have good instructors that teach good driving skills that do land you good jobs with the bigger companies like Werner, swift, and the likes but that doesn't mean you can't get your own pre hire letters from other companies. Overall I think they are a good school to go to.

Sorry havent updated this in a couple weeks, but anyways i finished my 3rd weekend last week and goin into the 4th tomorrow. Last weekend was the first in a truck and it was long awaited. I was ready to get into one after all that paperwork the first two weekends. I never drove a manual anything so i was kinda nervous about it in the morning. I did really well though we went around the so called track about 3-4 times each. There was 3 students in my truck so not to long of a wait time and you got to learn from there mistakes so i kinda liked how there setup was. I was in a freight shaker and i made my fair share of mistakes but it took me some time to get comfortable. The clutch was as high as it could get and with me being so tall it took me a few rounds on the lap to get comfortable. My newbie mistakes were forgetting to push the button up or down or starting in 5th gear thinking it was 3rd
. After our first break we got to take the truck on the road for a couple miles , basically a big circle but we did get to go on the interstate and get it up to 9th gear and have people behind us pissed off
. It can be pretty intimidating out there , i mean i never drove a manual or 65 feet of tractor trailer but on my first day i ended up getting pretty confident and at least got to get on the road for a little while. The day after which was sunday we spent all day on the bad backing. Straightline i did good and my offset wasnt to bad but i tried to do it without pulling up just to get the feel of the trailer, needless to say i made it once and didnt make it once so just always pull up to be sure you make it. After lunch we went to the parrellel parking and i pretty much sucked at it. Sometimes u just get lost, and the instructor would be like go ahead and back up lol but it took me a few seconds longer to visualize what i needed to do. I definately like driving and even when i made mistakes or was totally lost it just made me want to setup again and keep on trying. So far i like the instructors and the school and im eager to learn and be safe. This weekend will be just like last except im definately less nervous and im excited to get out there and learn as much as i can.
123456 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Iceman my instructor changes every weekend it seems like, Last weekend i had rich or rick the same guy u said teaches u nights. He was cool . I also had the placement lady for roadmaster call me,which i was suprised kinda because after the first day i havent seen her or heard anything about placement since. I have a so called perfect record so she told me just to fill out all the apps she left and to go on the net and apply for roehl and conway. Ofcourse after spending probably to many hours on this website i have already done research on most of these companies but it was still nice for her to tell me because most people ive talked to dont really get much advice from her.

Yea Ricks cool. Tonya called me the other day too to discuss finance options. Thats the only thing I'm not happy about is that they wait almost a week after your in the class to discuss that with you. But thats all worked out. Armyguy if you gonna be in class tomorrow look for me. I'll be wear the Bass pro camo hat. Stand about 6'2 about 210. Come say Hi! Look forward to see ya out there!
