I am currently on Brigade Staff Duty (24hrs)...sucks.. TWIC (you can fill out all online) then sit up an appointment and just go with the required documents and about $125 or so. It hard to believe some drivers do not get passport and twic etc. I guess it will be nice knowing that I have $2000-2500 each month coming each month with retirement and wife working. No bills other then a mortgage. Retire and our two new vehicles paid off looking forward to hitting the road.
If you need any questions or just want to get in touch send me private message on here. Thanks Jay.

You can get the same GI money with Schneider Bulk which has a Nashville facility.
With a year experience you can switch to A&R Logistics which also has a Nashville facility; those drivers make $62K-$72K per year. -
Thanks man, I appreciate it! TMC was who I followed a lot when I first thought about doing this, but I am not in the hiring area even though some of the guys in the last course that just graduated got hired on by them. And their recruiter was kind of an ###. I am actually working late tonight searching youtube vids while reading this forum. I will definately rifle through all the guys you listed.

Chiantown, I really wanted to do Schneider Bulk, but I am too far out. I know that was to him but it seems like a very sweet deal to set yourself up for the future. Me and the wife may be mocing to Louisville in a year or two, and I should have some good exp under my belt and actually know how to drive by then and some more things will be able to open up in that area.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Chinatown, Thanks and have been thinking Tanker and doing like you talked about. The only issue it seems Tanker would be difficult for my wife to travel with me in the future compared to Flatbed, Dry Van etc. Seems like the Tanker does not want you to have passenger. This is all what it seems to me not saying it is the case. I know seems Tanker is the best money but with it just being me and the wife I feel in a few years she for sure will want to hit the road with me. jay

Ordy19, ya seems you need to get yourself west of I95 for TMC and a lot of other ones. That is why we are looking at Tennessee more towards the middle good for trucking I think. I have a home in Oklahoma we rent and will sell down the road, we enjoyed it there but want to be some where near a larger city and Nashville seems nice and being close to Fort Campbell so we have my retirement benefits and she can keep working on base as a Dental Assistant.

Wing nut, if you can run a flat bed you can run a dry van no problem, reefer may require a little extra training to learn how to use and troubleshoot the reefer so you can switch down the road but if you're looking long term you may want to look at one of those options for when your wife does join you, you have a greater likelihood of getting a high rise running van or reefer than you do with a flat and with 2 people in the truck the extra space makes a difference.

Chinatown, with A and R logistics they have a Veteran Program and waive the two year OTR requirement. They will even help Veteran get their CDL if they do not have one. Sounds real good..........

When I pulled reefers, the company didn't have a rider program, but I took her anyway.
Bulkmatic has a terminal in Hopkinsville; something to keep in mind for the future.WingNut72 Thanks this. -
