Let's see, at Millis we are paid on a sliding scale so the more miles you run the more per mile you are paid. BTW I am making a whole lot more than I was in the 80's.

Their pay rate on their website shows $.40 a mile HHG routing .
That may be a whole lot more than you were making in the 80's but let's see 1983 was 30 years ago and you were 10 years old .
Carrier executives admit pay has not kept up with the cost of living .

Rick i hate to tell you but no one is technically making more than back in the 80s. twas a simpler time. My old job as a mechanic is still paying the same as it was 15 years ago when i started there. I make a good wage driving for Millis. Many truck drivers complain about the pay. But it is alot more than most other jobs for way way way less work. i mean seriously 90% of the time is driving sleeping and waiting. the other 10% is hooking and unhooking trailers, sweeping out trailers, and strapping loads. Where else can you get paid to only do work 10% of the time?

I do believe Millis does advertise "become a paid tourist" on their website or something along those lines. Not trying to get in the midst of this, just read that and had to add that.
