this is all you said in your "original posting"
you were given a positive thought, not negative thoughts.
show me where you asked for more than this..(in the first posting)...???
in your SECOND posting, you asked if you can make money...the answer WAS already answered as well by a few others....or did you NOT read that either..???
and by the way...READING OTHER PEOPLES FAILURES, MAKES YOU LEARN/BENEFIT FROM THEM....so you do not repeat what they did.>!!!
best advice to be given to you now is, "stay out, you really DO NOT want to learn, you only want to hear the good, not the bad or ugly.... which is what YOU WILL FIND in the hotshot business".Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Hey guys I am new to the site and new to all Trucking. Me and the wife were tossing around the thought of opening a small ( very small) bizz either hauling LTL with a 1ton Dodge Dulley and A flat-bed or using the same truck to haul 3-4 car hauler or use the same truck to haul RV's.. I realize there are some that made it work well and some that didn't for whatever reason. ( i've been reading on the site now for awhile ) , anyway this will be a big step for us and negative thoughts are really not needed unless its something I can learn or benefit from. Not tring to be rudd, Just don't want to have to read other peoples failures.
This was my original post. -
and for the second time, you asked NO QUESTIONS...leading to advice to be given..and NO QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED..!!!
not too smart the potential business man are you..?? -
With this attitude, you will not receive any help. -
I could've swore I asked in a diff post if money could be made. I got my answer to that. Maybe I forgot to ask which direction out of the three I listed would be the best route for a startup. Sorry. I just assumed that someone would have picked up on that and give an answer. I apologize.
-
yes you did ask if money could be made, but that was posting number 2...which number two IS NOT the original posting..!!
so "someone" like me and a few others DID pick up on that....
number one= original posting
number two and others= DO NOT make for an original... -
Another wannabe that knows everything, asks everything, and then when you try to tell him, does not want to listen:smt102.
The reason you read of other's failures is because that is what the majority do. Especially folks like you who have absolutely no idea what trucking is all about, just an idea they want to see happen. Most fail.
I have helped quite a few friends start trucking, helping in various ways. From assisting with teaching to drive, obtaining CDL, financing trucks, renting trailers, helping them get loads, whatever it took. Truckers help others who deserve to be helped, but ignore those with a bad attitude:smt021. Listen to everything you are being told, then either find someone with experience to mentor you, or go to work for someone and learn a little bit.
Do not jump in until you learn how to swim.

Ok I understand. Forgive me. Do you have a suggestion on which direction I should go,, out the three I listed in the first post?
-
Ok, lots of questions for you to think about.Do you have experience in any related field ? Working capital ? Do you have a CDL ? Driving record good ? Do you have a good work history ? Can you drive a truck ? Do you have a truck ? How good a shape ? Sleeper ? Trailer ? What type ? What industry is near you ? Do you have any connections in any industry that ships? How much do you want to be away from home ? Mechanically inclined ? You and wife driving ? Projected salary you require ? On & on. All need to be answered before a good business decision can be reached.
There is no way to answer your question for you. All trucking can be profitable, to varying degrees, depending upon the situation. Learn a little more background info on trucking before making a decision.Roadstartwin Thanks this.
