    Thing to remember with going from 6th to 5th on a 10 speed is that required rpm will typically be your road speed X 1000. 15mph? Tach to 1500 and it will drop right in. 10mph? Tach to 1000 rpm and it will drop.

    Feel a lot better about backing after today. I never figured that the parallel parking would be the easiest. Had another trainer show an easy 7 step way to do the alley dock where you use different points on the landing gear. CDL test tomorrow at 0600!

    Hmm, When I tested out I did not go any lower than 7th. Instructor told me not to worry as long as I did not coast any more than a truck length I was ok. I asked the examiner afterwards and he was ok with it. Did not knock any points off. That said I generally don't go any lower than 7th, unless I am going into a turn onto a street etc. Hope this makes sense to you. lol

    No trifecta for me. Rubbed a $&&@&$?!#%*^%#?! curb with the trailer tires. Retest for me tomorrow! Passed pretrip and backing though. Had to do conventional parallel park and blind side offset. Didn't even get to do alley dock, which we've been practicing the heck out of.
