So here's my situation. I'm looking to start driving very soon. I currently do not have my CDL or quite the funds to go to a school. I currently live in Arkansas, but me and my wife are wanting to move to Wyoming next summer/fall. I've been looking into paid CDL training programs but they'll require you to work for them for a year or two. And everywhere I can find around here that will do that, Wyoming us way outside the hiring area.. So I'm really confused on what I should do. Am I looking at the wrong companies? Or am I just #### out of luck and going to have to pay for school eventually if we move away?
Starting but moving??

You're not out of luck; I don't think!
Jim Palmer Trucking - cdl school in Missoula, Montana
Jones Bros. Trucking - cdl school in Missoula, Montana
Prime Inc. - school in Salt Lake City, Utah & Springfield, Missouri
Wyoming is between Utah & Montana, so those are probably good for you.
Prime Inc. has two schools; Missoula, Montana and Springfield, Missouri. You can probably train at either location and still be good for living in Wyoming. You can probably do well with either of those 3 companies.

Stinky Dairy Air and Mr. Wavy Thank this. -
You'll be better off getting your CDL in Wyoming if you plan on moving there permanently rather than go through all the hassles that the DMV will give you.
Look into going to a truck driving in Wyoming. There's a couple in Cheyenne and Casper. -
Chinatown Thanks this.

@Stinky Dairy Air I would like to have some experience before I get up there, so if I wait, that's 6-8 months I'd be missing out on. But I appreciate the input, I wasn't even thinking about DMV *hassle*
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Yeah, you got to think ahead in this business. It use to be really easy to have the CDL changed from one state to another but not so much anymore from what I understand.
Mr. Wavy Thanks this. -
Well between everything else I've been trying to figure out, that just slipped my mind. I'll make sure to look into that a little more and try to prepare for that headache when the transfer time comes

Because you are in Arkansas, you may be eligible for a state training program. Something you might want to look into.
Also, look into the school at ASU Newport.
Call them, they may be able to give you some info on various programs.Stinky Dairy Air, x1Heavy and Mr. Wavy Thank this. -
Doesn't hurt to inquire and find out exactly what is required. I just completed an interstate move and I had no problems...except for HazMat, which would be the same for anyone moving anywhere.
Mr. Wavy Thanks this.
