Starting from a stop with a full load on a hill

    Why use 2nd gear if fully loaded. I would think 1st would be best in this situation along with some throttle.

    Yeah I start in a low gear but I'm thinking that I am keeping my foot on the brake too long maybe also

    second works for me most of the time occasionally it doesn't.. gotta feel it

    It will take experience, but dca is right, second works most of the time, but if it's a steep hill, use low. If it's downhill, sometimes I use third, but I'm careful with it. If the truck shakes or shutters, it's too high of a gear. And I try not to use throttle until the clutch is fully engaged. Clutches are expensive.
