My 91 and 93 Freightliners had electronic Detroit engines. The 3406e cat was out in the early to mid 90s. The N14 was electronic in that time frame as well. Those were the three main engines available at the time, so you can easily lease a 20-25 year old truck to LS if it passes inspection.

They're not outlawed for current BCO's. only new ones since new leases have to have EOBR, and EOBR's have to hook up to the engine. Since LS statistics singled out new leases (less than a year) as the main culprit for log violations, they are the ones required to have EOBRs. The seasoned BCOs that know how to log are still on paper, and the ones that don't have an EOBR or are gone. Seems pretty fair to me.

They will force you on e-logs if you're involved in an accident even though you're not at fault. Happened to a friend of mine.

That's pretty much what he said. I've known this driver ever since I started driving he's not a screwup and I take him at his word. Believe what you will just hope some dummy doesn't run into you.

You took that wrong, it may very well be the case, or there could be a history of internal log violations. They send us a nice sheet every so often with perceived violations. Most of them are as Mikey said, log department tryin to justify their job. I ignore them, but I've had two level 3'a and a level 1 in the last year with no problems

I do not run Canada.I have been hit many many times on the log violation..SKY BITZ is a big joke and worth nothing..But keep in mind...

It is good enough for LANDSTAR to push thier agenda of ''mandating'' the E-BABYSITTER,even though L/S knows it is not accurate whatsoever...Not fair at all...

I have been told by other BCO's that if you need to borrow money for a repair that part of the agreement is to have e-logs installed in your truck or you wont get the money.
