Just remember and anyone who hauls heavy will tell you flashing Amber lights make people stupid. They will pull out in front of you at the last second because they don’t want to be behind that big load. That’s sad always check your load two or three times, and if you have doubts about your securement put another chain on it. The bigger the better and Pilot car‘s good ones anyway will make your day so much easier. Good luck and God bless this will be the most rewarding job you will ever have.

    Congrats on the job!
Like any job you'll have occasional crappy day. O
verall I believe its the most enjoyable work you will ever do.
And don't let some foreman screaming for a piece of equipment shake you up. Its not your fault dispatch screws up scheduling.
Smooth, safe and steady WINS every time!!! A few minutes or an hour late is time saved over having a problem, incident somehow, because of rushing.
Keep us informed how well it is going for you.

IMG_20191113_203817_471.jpg IMG_20191113_203817_471.jpg Heavy Haul is in my opinion, the best job in trucking. Throwing chains is a pain sometimes. Epically crawling around bigger equipment. Aways check boomers and chains at least twice before moving, sometimes they can develop slack from one side to the other. Always plan your route, know the widths and heights. Like said before, slow and steady. Welcome to the Heavy Haul life. Oh, you do have to be a little crazy to do t

I was doing some checking, from what I see out TREX 900 grinder may be our heaviest piece. according to their web site it weighs 94,000lbs. that's not as much as I almost haul that much oil in a tanker and this don't surge. I'm not saying it will be a cake walk but maybe not be as bad as I was expecting. I may be forgetting a piece that's more weight and size. I know we have some big excavators but from what I saw they weigh as much but are wider. could be our trucks are built for more than we need with 4 axel trailers. or we are border line 3 or 4. I'm starting to get ants in my pants to start. weather getting warmer time to go.

DAE54C02-078B-475F-B683-38623068BF66.jpeg Well today was the first load with the lowbed. Went good. Not a heavy load just a paver. Right now they are short drivers period. I’m doing a lot of tanker yet. Hopefully moving to just lowbed soon. It is what it is I’ll do what I’m needed to do. So far so good.

At least they didn't "throw you to the wolves" and have you move a big ### excavator the first trip out.
