I thought it was your Truck, can’t stand to see anyone get ripped off. It’s your boss’ call. Good luck

I dont know how old the batteries are. Ive only had the truck since January and 44xxx miles ago. Did sit for a week with very brief starts and idling 4 weeks ago.

You my friend are a prophet...4 batteries later and a new alternator and problem persists the same. I called the company to try to have them call it off because after them saying batteries was diagnosis i wasnt fully agreeing.

I worked at a shop before and mis-diagnosed something but there was someone with more experience there to correct me....if i owned the truck i would be upset right now.

you are probably missing a ground from batteries to starter, had that issue on 2 of our trucks. it caused long slow cranks, it also was grounding out through power steering hose for some reason. not sure if its related to your issue but that's what we had.

Well just got truck out of shop this late afternoon at a Freightliner. The lines off the fuel rail going into the head were replaced, they were seeping fuel...i was confident i was good now but problem persists. At least it was warranty and was something the truck actually needed. Wasn't fun being here since Saturday afternoon.

So you haven’t tried fuel filters yet? I’ve had problems with 2011 up to 2015 DD15’s, both the 2 filter and 3 filter systems. We change our own filters so there’s no one to blame it on but ourselves. But when we have an issue like yours, it has always been the fuel filters. We even have one truck we messed them up 3 times in a row, after we check the rest of the fuel system with no luck, it came in for and engine service, changed the filters and presto. It started like normal after the drivers day off. We have our best luck getting them sealed up by lubing the crap out of every O-ring before installing them. The installer shouldn’t forget there are 2 seals in the bottom of the big filter. People have forgotten to lube the inner one and we have found it torn a couple times.
I realize the $70 filter kit will be out of pocket (warranty almost never covers it) but it’s always been our issue....Rideandrepair, CruzControhl and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I'm no diesel tech, or even a wrench for that matter... But maybe injectors? Or in need of running an overhead?
Rideandrepair and CruzControhl Thank this.
